Arab Maghreb union denounces Israel's aggressions against Palestinian people
The Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) vehemently denounces the policy of massacres and destruction practiced on a large scale by the Sharon government against the Palestinian people, said the UMA secretary general Mohamed Amamou.
In a release issued in Rabat, where the UMA secretariat general is headquartered, Amamou said the union firmly condemns the logic of threat practiced by Israel, which ignores, through its barbaric methods, all international standards and conventions related to the protection of unarmed civilians.
UMA, he said, is following with deep worry the situation in the Middle East following Israel's aggression and escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories meant to annihilate the Palestinian people, their national authority and their infrastructure in the autonomous territories.
Amamou recalled the unshakable stands of Maghreban leaders and their collective and individual initiatives to back the Palestinian cause and seek a peaceful and fair solution guaranteeing to the Palestinian people the right to return and to establish an independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.
He called the peace process sponsors and the whole international community to shoulder their responsibility and force the Israeli government to show restraint, stop its aggression and privilege the logic of dialogue to preserve international peace that is threatened by Israel's stubbornness.
