Muslim-Christian affability dates back to hundreds years
Feelings of affability between Muslims and Christians traced date to hundreds of years, said minister of Awkafs (endowments) Mahmoud Hamdi Zaqzouq during Iftar banquet (Ramadan's Post sunset meal) hosted by Copts of Maadi and Al-Basatin.
"We must stand against whoever wants to do prejudice to Muslim-Christian relations," he added.
Zaqzouq concluded that Egypt was and would always remain an example of a country that believes in the Divine Messages and had got strong relations with all prophets, peace be upon them.
On his part, Maadi Bishop Danial, said, "We always meet every year with our friends around one table to cement ties of friendship in this blessed month."
He added, "We will continue working together to derive benefits for our community".
He concluded that Christians would start fast by next week to co observe fasting with Muslims.
