Al-Shara discusses with Austrian official Afghani crises, ME peace

The foreign minister Farouk al-Shara on Tuesday received the secretary general of the international relations at the Austrian democratic social party and members of the accompanying delegation. The meeting was attended by foreign ministry officials concerned and the Austrian ambassador in Damascus.

Discussions dealt with regional and international developments and prospects of the conditions in Afghanistan and expected possibilities to end the crises.

Discussions also dealt with debated thoughts and views to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region in light of the statement read by the US secretary of State Collin Powell, pertaining to a settlement in the region and the European role in it.
