Jordan and Chirac's call to bring together, the Palestinians and the Israelis

The Jordanian weekly Sheihan said that the Jordanian government is bewildered towards supporting or refusing the call advocated by the French President Jacques Chirac in which he called for the need of convening a round table negotiations to back the Palestinians and the Israelis to return back to peace negotiations, in which the French President indicated the need that this table will also include the US, Russia, Egypt and Jordan only.

The paper which will release tomorrow ( Saturday) quoted official government's sources as saying that there are complicated political calculations implied in this call and therefore the question of taking a direct position towards it is of a special sensitivity, especially amid the deterioration of conditions in the occupied territories and the region and the failure of all efforts exerted before to convince Israel to return back to the table negotiations.
