Originally published

Morocco and France will enhance their cooperation in matters of urban development and struggle against unhealthy housing under a protocol of agreement signed here Monday.

Under the protocol, initialed by visiting French minister delegate to the city, Claude Bartolone, and Moroccan secretary of state for housing, Mohamed M'Barki, the two countries undertake to promote technical, scientific and legal exchanges in housing.

They will join efforts to seek most efficient means to solve the problems caused by accelerated urbanization and unhealthy housing and will also cooperate to rehabilitate old urban fabrics and boroughs suffering from poor infrastructure.

The protocol provides for the setting up of an ad-hoc work group on urban development and unhealthy housing and for exchange of expertise between cities in the frame of decentralized cooperation.
