Moroccan football federation denies departure of Moroccan team coach
Secretary general of the Moroccan Royal Football federation (FRMF), Karim Alem, on Monday denied news reports that the Portuguese coach of the Moroccan team, Humberto Coelho, would leave Morocco to coach the Saudi team that has been qualified to the coming world football cup.
The two-year contract between the FRMF and Coelho expires only on October 30, 2002, Alem told MAP, adding that relations between the federation and the coach are good and are marked by understanding.
The Portuguese press announced Monday that Coelho had been approached by the Saudi federation to coach the Saudi team.
The Saudi federation had also flatly denied the press reports saying they were groundless.
