"Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Kuwaiti Deputy Emir, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Saa'd AL-Abdullah held a tete-a-tete session of talks during which they discussed various issues of mutual concern," said Egyptian Information Minister Safwat EL-Sherif.

"The two sides tackled the efforts being exerted by the U.S. and the international community to uproot terrorism," added el Sherif.

In statements made on Sunday, El-Sherif said the Egyptian Kuwaiti talks pored over the repercussions of the international campaign against terrorism on the Arab and Islamic worlds.

'They reiterated that Islam condemned terrorist acts, because Islamic beliefs were based on tolerance and dialogue. "Mubarak and Sheikh Saad expressed their keenness on standing up to attempts of inciting clashes between civilizations," he added.

'They also highlighted the importance of realizing a just solution to the Palestinian cause and that the international community should shoulder the responsibility of stopping the military operations against defenseless Palestinians, lifting the siege on Palestinians and abiding by the international legitimacy resolutions,' EL-Sherif said.

Concluding his statements, El Sherif said both Mubarak and Sheikh Saad underlined the necessity of respecting dialogue and non-intervention in others' domestic affairs.

President Mubarak arrived in Kuwait yesterday on a brief visit to Kuwait, after winding up the leg of his tour which took him to the United Arab Emirates.
