Moroccan premier on official visit to Malaysia

Originally published

Moroccan prime minister, Abderrahmane Youssoufi, arrived in Malaysia on Sunday for an official visit at the invitation of Malaysian peer, Mohamed Mahatir. Youssoufi underscored the economic success of Malaysia, despite the economic and financial crisis in the region and hailed Malaysia's laudable stand regarding the Sahara issue.

This is the first ever official visit by a Moroccan prime minister to this south-east Asian country, Youssoufi had told reporters before departure from the Casablanca airport.

The visit will help consolidate cooperation ties between Morocco and Malaysia, mainly in trade, telecommunication and new information technologies, he said.

Youssoufi is accompanied by an official and business delegation.
