WTO should take Arab countries' interests into account

Egyptian Minister of Home Trade and Supply said that any decisions to be taken by the coming World Trade Organization (WTO) ministerial meetings should take into account interests of all Arab states and balance interests of both developing and developed countries.

Addressing the first working session of the Arab ministerial meeting on Monday, Egyptian Minister of Home Trade and Supply Hassan khedr said Egypt calls for freer access of developing countries products into developed countries' markets.

"The real practice of the trade agreement proved it to be advocating interests of developed countries and not in harmony with developing ones' interests," the Egyptian Minister said.

He added that developing countries have not got equal treatment despite offering free concessions to developed countries.
