On Bin Laden
The Qatari daily al-Watan said in a report to its correspondent in Damascus on Saturday that despite certain Syrian origins for " Osama Bin Laden," yet he could not establish any branch for his al-Qaeyda organization because the Syrian community by its nature is " secular" and shows great caution towards terrorist organizations.
The paper added having supporters and followers for Osama Bin Laden is considered very negative matter in a country like Syria, noting that the al-Qaeyda organization, according to almost official Syrian sources, "seemed as had not tries to penetrate into the Syrian society nor practice any current activities and that the only religious organization which flourished in Syria during the 1980s was the Muslim Brothers gang."
The paper added, according to confirmed Syrian sources that al-Ghanem family which married one of its daughters to Osama Bin Laden and did the same before with his father " does not have any contacts nor relations with him and the matter lies only at the confines of a " social marriage relation."
