Head of weekly faces judiciary action over false news of royal palace selling

The general prosecutor has opened a preliminary investigation against Ali Lemrabet whose weekly magazine "Demain-Magazine" alleged that the royal palace of Skhirat (40 km south of Rabat) would be put on sale. The prosecutor who found out that the article comprises lies and allegation and was intended to harm decided to open a preliminary investigation.

Sources close to the general prosecutor in Rabat say the decision is not intended to harm the freedom of the press in Morocco but rather top safeguard the code of ethics of journalism.
