Al-Qaddoumi vows to continue the Intifada

Originally published

Chairman of the political department at the PLO Farouk al-Qaddoumi has stressed that the Palestinian Intifada will continue despite the siege the Palestinians suffer because he is convinced, as he said, that resistance is the only way to liberate the homeland and to force Israel to pullout its forces from the occupied Palestinian territories.

In a statement to the United Arab Emirates UAE daily al-Khaleij ( the Gulf) al-Qaddoumi said that Sharon was unable to halt the Intifada despite the fact that he used sophisticated military force and weapons against the Palestinian people, to the extent that senior Israeli politicians started to announce openly that military actions can not eliminate the Intifada and that political work is the way to solve this problem through the ME peace process cosponsor, namely the US and the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions through the establishment of an independent and sovereign state.
