Serial killer sentenced to capital punishment

A serial killer, found guilty of assassinating five women, was sentenced Tuesday to capital punishment by the court of appeal of Al-Jadida, 190 km south of Rabat.

The killer, 42, was arrested last June in flagrante delicto on the scene of the assassination of his fifth victim.

The culprit, a jobless, targeted prostitutes and female procurers living alone, his mobile being to steal his victims' money and jewels.

The killer, who committed his first crime in 1993, managed to go underground and unpunished. Two innocent people got life sentence in connection to this first crime. They are still awaiting the revision of their trial, MAP reported.
