US Congress to receive Aoun

The Lebanese daily al-Sharq said on Tuesday that the foreign relations committee at the US congress is preparing to meet with Lt. Gen. Michael Aoun in a hearing forum, noting that this change in the Congress' policy might not be innocent as relations claimed to be severed as claimed by the American side since the beginning of the 1990s.

The paper said there is no one who is ready to accept the idea of "spontaneous" openness to gen. Aoun especially that all attention is now directed at the meantime to the consequences of current developments.
