Straw underlines the importance of declaring a Palestinian state

The British foreign minister Jacque Straw has stated that recognizing the Palestinian state is necessary in the Middle East region.

In a statement to the BBC on Monday Straw added that recognizing the state of Palestine should be part of a long process to proceed into peace in the Middle East region.

Straw called on Israel and the Palestinian Authority to proceed forward in implementing agreements and plans signed between themselves.
