Al-Assad meets with Egyptian party officials

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday afternoon at the Damascus al- Shaab presidential palace received the chairman of the unionist progressive national coalition party in Egypt Khaled Mohey Eddine and the party's secretary general Rifaat al-Saeed.

The meeting was attended by the assistant secretary general of the Baath party Abdullah al-Ahmar.

Discussions dealt with co-operation relations between the unionist progressive national coalition party in Egypt and the Syrian Baath Party in light of the " brotherly " relations between the two countries.

Discussions also dealt with current conditions on the regional and international arenas and means of revitalizing Arab solidarity amid prevailing conditions.
