Al-Shara confers with Austrian counterpart

The Syrian foreign minister Farouk al-Shara on Sunday evening in Damascus met with Austria's foreign minister and members of her accompanying delegation. Upon her arrival in Syria, the Austrian foreign minister was welcomed at the airport by the deputy foreign minister Mrs Siba Naser. In an arrival statement to the press the visiting Foreign minister said " we are in a very difficult times following the tragic incidents took place at the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon building in Washington."

She expressed her conviction that the new condition has created new circumstances that require consultations " with our Syrian and Arab friends and this is the very reason I am in this region now." She added that her talks with al-Shara will deal with the current situation and its reflections on the region and the world.
