Sharon cancels meeting between Peres, Arafat

The Israeli prime Minister Ariel Sharon has decided to cancel the meeting which was due on Sunday between his foreign minister Shimon Peres and the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat.

The Hebrew language Israeli radio quoted a source close to Sharon as saying that the prime minister asked Peres not to meet with Arafat today ( Sunday ) because of what he ( Sharon) called acts of violence and Arafat non- abidance to the Israeli conditions, as he ( Sharon) claimed.
