Al-Assad meets with Lebanese officials

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad at the Damascus's al-Shaab palace on Saturday received the Lebanese minister of information Ghazi al-Aridi and the secretary general of the Syrian- Lebanese higher council Nasri al-Khouri.

Present at the meeting was the Syrian minister of information Muhammad Omran. Bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern were reviewed.

Later in the evening the Syrian prime minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro received al-Aridi and Khouri.

Discussions dealt with means of developing co-operation relations in all fields especially in cultural, media and educational areas and the importance of inter- Arab media co-ordination in the service of issues to the two " sisterly " countries and causes of the Arab nation.
