Jordanian, Russian leaders discuss relations

The Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised the cooperation relations existing between Jordan and Russia. He expressed his confidence that the visit of the Jordanian King Abdullah II to Moscow will mark an important incident at the level of relations between the two countries. This was expressed at the beginning of talks between Putin and the Jordanian King, currently visiting Russia.

For his part and following a close door meeting with Putin, the Jordanian Monarch said he had held fruitful negotiations with the Russian President on the question of the Middle East and bilateral relations. He commended Russia's role concerning the peace process in the region.

The Jordanian King said that stances o the two countries are identical in several matters relating to the Middle East question. He expressed his hope that this visit will open a new page of cooperation between Jordan and Russia.
