Egypt expresses support for legitimacy in Indonesia

Egypt Wednesday expressed absolute support for legitimacy in Indonesia and for bringing about stability in order to achieve progress, welfare and prosperity to the Indonesian people.

This came in a press release by the Egyptian foreign ministry commenting on the latest political developments in Indonesia.

The Indonesian parliament overthrew on Monday President Abdurrahman Wahid and elected Megawati Sukarn oputri as President of Indonesia.

Meanwhile, in Jakarta, the unseated President said that he would leave the presidential palace today and would head for the United States for treatment.
