Originally published

Morocco and Brazil have discussed earlier this week in Rio De Janeiro partnership opportunities in matters of oil prospecting.

These partnership opportunities were discussed at meetings between Moroccan minister of trade, industry, energy and mining, Mustapha Mansouri, and Brazilian minister of energy, Jose Jorge De V. Lima, as well as between director general of the Moroccan board for oil prospecting (ONAREP), Amina Benkhadra, and senior executives of the Brazilian oil company PETROBRAS.

The Brazilian side was informed on the institutional and legal implements regulating oil prospecting in Morocco and that are deemed most attractive in the world.

The Brazilian energy minister accepted an invitation to visit Rabat to further talks on this cooperation while PETROBRAS, a world leader in off-shore oil prospecting, will shortly dispatch to Morocco a delegation of executives and experts to get informed on cooperation opportunities.

The Moroccan delegation is currently visiting Brazil to take part in a forum on partnership between Brazil and the Arab world.

On the sidelines of the forum, the delegation met several Brazilian and Arab officials and economic operators.
