Kuwaiti contacts to avoid confrontation with Iraq

The Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am issued on Sunday said that the Kuwaiti officials made contacts with the US and Britain with the objectives of alienating Kuwait from any possible confrontation with Iraq after Iraq, on Thursday launched a missile at an American plane over the no- fly zone area between Iraq and Kuwait.

In its Sunday's issue the paper added that observers in Kuwait have debated reports on an Iraqi attempt to drag Kuwait into confrontation with Iraq, adding that launching the Iraqi missiles coincided with discovering two organizations, hireling for Kuwait. According to an official at the US state department, the paper added that there are Iraqi stations to launching missiles deployed along the borders with Kuwait.

On the other hand, the Kuwaiti daily al-Qabas disclosed on Sunday that the Iraqi ministry of defense in collaboration with the Iraqi defense system made improvement on ground to air missiles of "SAM " type, noting that Kuwait and the allied forces increased its readiness and air sorties to monitor the situation on the border.
