Oman ratifies Gulf join defense agreement
Oman has signed the joint defense agreement signed by leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states in its recent summit in al-Manama in December. The Sultan of Oman, Qabous, approved the agreement which states that any aggression against any GCC member state is but an aggression on them as whole and that the GCC states have to take necessary measures to repel any aggression or threats, including the use of military force to repel this aggression and restore back legitimacy, security and peace.
