Morocco, Spain hold 1st joint justice encounter

Originally published

The first Moroccan-Spanish encounter on justice between the Moroccan supreme court and the general council of the Spanish judiciary authority opened in Rabat Wednesday.

The session will be looking into various judiciary issues, as Spain hosts a 200,000-large Moroccan community and some one million Moroccan cross the Spanish territory during the summer season. Numerous issues related to nationality, personal status, road accidents and labor contracts will be probed.

Four major themes are on the agenda: personal status code (marriage, divorce, heritage), criminal law (penal and civil responsibility in road accidents), trade law (enterprise statutes), labor law (labor contracts for Moroccans living in Spain).
