ME conference in London, ruled out Israelis
A conference under the title " the Middle East in London" was opened on Wednesday at the Oriental and African studies center of London's university. It was held under the patronage of the British crown prince Charles and the Middle East Institute in London and attended by a large number of experts who are interested in this matter and the Syrian ambassador in London Sami Ghalil.
The conference which will last for three days will discuss a series of issues foremost being the relation between Britain and the region and the role of the ME region as a bridge between the East and the West.
The most remarkable thing about this conference is that its patron, prince Charles did not extend any invitation to any Israeli or Jew to attend the conference despite the protests expressed by the British Jews.
The conferees will discuss the role played by London as a financial and cultural center of close ties to the ME region. Several academics and businessmen will present papers on the extent and importance of investments in London.
