Morocco needs more engineers
The number of engineers in Morocco is still low in view of the country's growing economic development needs, the Head the Moroccan Institute of electricity and mechanics said.
Morocco has 8.6 engineers for every 1,000 inhabitants against 90 for France and 540 for Japan, Abdellah Semlali told a professional meeting of engineers in Casablanca.
The number of engineers is taken into account by world bodies to rank nations according to their development level, he said, adding deploring the mass emigration of Moroccan engineers to foreign countries.
Semlali called for finding solutions to help engineers flourish and make them stay in their country.
