Egypt underlines US role in the ME

The Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Maher has stressed the need of Israel's halting its flagrant aggressions against the unarmed Palestinian people as well as to stop its settlement policy so as conditions in the Middle East to be calmed.

In a statement aired in Cairo on Sunday, Maher stressed the US key role as an honest broker in the Middle East peace process in order to force Israel to abide by the International legitimacy resolutions. He also indicated the importance of the US role and its ability to affect the course of events in the region.
