Saudi Arabia denies statement by Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am
Saudi Arabia has refuted what was stated by the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am on Syria's reservations to the Saudi proposal provides for Saudi re-pumping of its oil in the " Tapline" in return for stopping the Iraqi-Syrian oil pipeline operations.
A well-informed Saudi source said in a statement broadcast by the Saudi news agency on Friday morning that the news stated by the said paper saying that during a meeting between President Bashar al-Assad with the Saudi crown prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Syria showed reservations over the proposal made by Saudi Arabia on the possibility of re-pumping the Saudi oil through the " Tapline" which passes through Jordan, Syria and Lebanon after making an amendment on its passage inside the Syrian territories instead of operating the group of pipelines between Karkouk oil fields ( in Iraq) and Banias port, are all groundless.
