One armed man, security men killed in Algeria

The Algerian security forces on Saturday evening killed one gunman and arrested other two in the " Bashar al-Jadid " quarters in Bashar province, situated 1,000 Km to the Southern west of the Capital Algiers.

The Algerian dailies issued on Monday said quoting a security source as saying that these gunmen belong to the group which held assassination operations in three areas in the province, recently.

On the other hand, three members of the municipal guards were killed and other four members were killed and in critical conditions on Sunday evening after two bombs went off near Eyat Wezerdan military barrack, situated in the outskirts of Tadmit, 100 Km to the east of Teizi Ozo city to the east of the capital Algiers.

The Algerian dailies quoted well-informed sources that the crime took place when an armed group numbering between 30-35 members implanted two bombs near the barrack and following their blowing off violent clashes took place between gunmen and the security men, but did not result in human casualties among the lines of the security forces.

The said sources expected the armed men to belong to Hassan Hattab group which is very active in the outskirts of Ali Bunab forest in the region.
