NDP achieves landslide victory in Shura Council elections
Some 241 candidates competed over 33 seats in 24 constituencies in eight governorates: Cairo, Alexandria, Kafr ElSheikh, Menya, Sohag, Assiut, Aswan and the New Valley, said Minister of Interior Habib Al-Adly on his statement of the official results of the Shura Council mid-term elections' third stage. The ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) won 13 seats, two uncontested in the New Valley and Assiut and 11 by election, while independents won no seats at all.
