Some 28 Somali killed in tribal confrontation
Some 28 persons were at least killed on Wednesday and other 30 persons were wounded in confrontation since last Sunday between two tribes in Somalia in Shabeel al-Westa to the southern part of the country.
The Somali minister of the Interior Daher Sheikh Muhammad said that the battle taking place between Adouli tribe and Kabalo tribe over differences on territories still continue.
The minister explained that the provisional national government sent to the area sent 20 Sheikhs escorted by a group of armed men who do not belong to tribes taking part in the conflict in an attempt to put an end to the confrontations.
The national provisional government was formed in the Summer of 2000 in conclusion of a national reconciliation conference in Arta in Djibouti.
This government, which does not succeed in imposing its authority and only controls part of the capital, wins the support of the international community but it faces great opposition from the war lords who share Makadishu.
