Solidarity march with the Palestinian people staged in Mohammedia

A march of solidarity with the Palestinian people was staged Sunday in Mohammedia, 20 KM north of Casablanca, claiming the right to return, the liberation of the occupied Palestinian territories and the establishment of an independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.

The march, under the topic "I Am For the Intifadah," denounced the genocide perpetrated against the unarmed, defenseless Palestinian people and voiced unconditional backing to and total solidarity with the struggle waged by the Palestinians against the Israeli occupation.

Representatives of political parties, trade unions, human rights associations and members of the Palestinian embassy in Morocco took part in the march that was part of a series of events organized by the Mohammedia local committee of support to the Palestinian Intifadah.

The committee, set up last December, sponsored a meeting "on the Intifadah and the Arab street," artistic events, exhibitions of Palestinian products and a football match between the Chabab Mohammedia and the Widad Casablanca teams. The match receipts were donated to the Intifadah. The committee also conducted a fund-raising campaign.
