Originally published

The Sudanese minister of Justice Ali Muhammad Othman Yassin has announced that his ministry issued its " Warrant of arrest" against Omar al-Turbai and al-Mahjoub Abdul salaam, the two leaders at the Sudanese People's Congress party, led by Hassan al-Turabi, who is currently jailed, because they had signed the memorandum of understanding with the southern Sudanese rebel movement in Geneva in February this year.

In a statement issued on Sunday in the Sudanese daily al-Sahafi al-Dawli, Othman Yassin added that investigations still continue with the leaders of the leaders of the People's Congress party who are detained and that legal sides are preparing to study the file of this case.

Both Omar al-Turabi and al-Mahjoub Abdul salaam are facing accusations, under the criminal law, in seeking to undermine the constitutional system, with a penalty that might reach death penalty or life imprisonment. It is expected that the Sudanese authorities will ask to bring the two men into the country via the Interpol ( International Police).
