Castro to visit Qatar

Cuban President Fidel Castro will pay an official visit to Qatar during this month in a course of his tour which will cover several Arab states.

The Qatari daily al-Watan said on Sunday that discussions are being made between the Qatari and the Cuban sides to set a date and a schedule for the visit which comes at the invitation of the ruler of Qatar Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani.

Qatar and Cuba signed in April an agreement provided for the establishment of a joint higher committee between the two countries with the aim to work for developing bilateral relations in various fields.
