Al-Assad discusses with Prodi the EU role

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday in Cordoba met with the President of the European Commission Romano prodi. The meeting was attended by the foreign minister Farouk al-Shara. Discussions during the meeting dealt with the current critical conditions in the region and the role played by the European Union in dealing with this situation.

Talks also dealt with the relations between Syria and the European Union.
