Golf: Morocco denies fusion of golf trophies
Morocco denied on Monday the fusion of the Hassan II Golf Trophy and the Morocco Open.
The information circulated recently by French wide-circulation daily Le Monde on the fusion of the two tournaments are baseless, the Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG) said in a release.
The Hassan II Trophy is a unique tournament by its nature and prestige and is part of the Moroccan sports heritage, said the FRMG, adding the Trophy cannot be fused with any other tournament.
The Hassan II trophy is staged every year in November, while the Moroccan Open is held in March.
The two tournaments drain world famed golfers.
