Foot-and-Mouth disease in Kuwait

The Kuwaiti daily al-Qabas said on Saturday that the preliminary figures of the Foot-and-Mouth disease wave in the Kuwaiti farms in " Kabad " district resulted in affecting 250 cows.

One cow breeder told the paper that 65 cows out of 90 in his farm were affected by this disease.

Sources at the agriculture commission said that what is needed is to use all the state's instruments concerned to withstand this danger which invaded the cattle farms in Europe and the world leaving behind catastrophe in live-stock, while cow breeders called on the agriculture commission to launch an immunization campaign very soon to counter the spread of the disease in Kuwait.
