Football: Morocco needs large victory in qualifier against Namibia
Morocco needs a large victory this Saturday against Namibia in Rabat to keep intact its chances to qualify for the 2002 World Cup.
The Moroccans are currently co-leading group C with Senegal and Egypt with 6 points.
While playing Namibia, Morocco will keep an eye on their Senegalese challengers who will play Algeria the same day in Dakar. Egypt is exempt.
Namibia will play Saturday's match in the absence of its foreign-based professional players.
Only three of the Brave Warriors' nine professional players called up for the encounter have joined the squad, something which has prompted the technical staff to include four more locally-based players to travel to Rabat.
Namibia has not won any match in this World Cup campaign yet, and a win over Morocco will temporarily lift them from the bottom where they are rooted after four matches - two losses and two draws.
The Brave Warriors played to a goalless stalemate against Morocco in their opening match at the Independence stadium last June.
