The Saudi minister of the Interior prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz has asserted that he found in the Iranians " the real desire to deal with all suspended issues with the Arab world, especially the question of the United Arab Emirates," in remarks to the Iranian occupation of the three UAE islands.

During his meeting with Arab ambassadors accredited in Tehran on Wednesday, the Saudi minister of the Interior, who is in an official visit to Tehran, added "there is nothing so far left to be under disputes with our Iranian brothers," after the two countries signed their first security agreement over which the Saudi minister said it will be " the beginning for a new phase between us and Iran." The Saudi minister indicated that the Iranian positions towards the Arab causes are not different from stances advocated by any other Arab state.

He noted the drastic conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories and expressed regret over the US veto against the presence of UN forces to protect the Palestinians.

However, the security agreement which was signed by the ministers of the interior in the two countries will be officially put into actual implementation after it will be ratified by the two governments during the coming phase. The agreement relates to the tasks of the ministries of the interior in the two countries and their bilateral co-operation.

In a press conference following the signing ceremony, the two ministers called for joining similar agreements to serve security in it, comprehensively. They also criticized the Israeli aggressions against Lebanon and the Syrian positions there.

Meantime, a source close to the Iraqi opposition in Tehran reported that the Saudi minister of the Interior met with Muhammad Baqer al-Hakim, the chairman of the " higher council of the Islamic revolution in Iraq," which takes Tehran as a headquarters.
