Egypt, Japan cooperate in educational projects
Egypt and Japan Thursday signed an agreement on launching the second phase of technological cooperation project.
Education Minister Hussein Kamel Bahha El-Din and Japanese experts from Japanese research centers witnessed the signing ceremony at the seat of the Egyptian Education Ministry in Cairo.
The Japanese side will provide Egyptian teachers with training on modern methods of teaching science and mathematics.
Bahaa El-Din praised Japan's experience in the field of science and mathematics teaching, adding that the project comes at a time when the Ministry plans to upgrade curriculums.
During the first phase, Japanese side participated in preparing guidebooks for science and mathematic teachers.
The Japanese side stressed that cooperating with Egypt is considered an enrichment to world educational thought. He praised Egypt's role in developing education by introducing education technology into schools and applying distance learning and by upgrading curriculums.
On the other hand, Dr. Bahaa El-Din said that Egypt is keen on fulfilling the needs of sisterly Arab countries and supplying them with the required expertise. This goes in line with President Mubarak's directives to put Egypt's expertise at the disposal of our brother Arab.
This came within the context of Bahaa's meeting with Arab cultural counselors held yesterday.
