The annual meeting of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Co-operation Council GCC and their counterparts in the European Union EU will be held in Bahrain on April 23.

The GCC secretary general Jamil al-Hjeilan said that the two sides will discuss bilateral and economic issues.

The Gulf News agency quoted al-Hjeilan as saying that the GCC- European current negotiations to sign the free trade agreement " have taken longer time for several considerations," but he asserted that these negotiations have recently taken an accelerated trend, expressing hope that this will contribute to signing the agreement.
