Food condition in Sudan is stable
The Sudanese government has asserted that the food condition in the country is stable and so far no signs of starvation have emerged in Sudan, noting that what was announced by the world food program on that there is a starvation in the eastern part of the country aims at creating illusion.
The Sudanese minister of finance Abdul Rahim Hadi said in a statement to the Sudanese daily " Alwan" (colors) on Wednesday that the main cause here is that the strategic storage of corn as there is a shortage in this material and the ministry is buying it from markets but in a slow process in order not to make its prices increase. He added that the shortage in rainfall affected the production of agricultural crops.
The Sudanese minister criticized statements made by word volunteering organization on the food security in Sudan, noting that the aim of these statements is to create illusion because these organizations only contribute in a very small portion to meeting the shortage in cereals and that they ( the organizations) are of big words and small deeds.
