Egypt condemns Israeli strikes against Palestinians
Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa strongly condemned the Israeli strikes on some West Bank and Gaza cities using tanks and helicopters.
Moussa told the Middle East News Agency (MENA) that the Israeli strikes reflected insistence on the part of Israel to pursue its violent policies and a total violation of the Fourth Geneva Declaration that provided for protecting civilians in time of war and in occupied lands.
"The Israeli strikes also contravened with the United Nations Security Council resolution which condemned the excessive use of force and showing exaggerated reaction of the part of the Israeli forces," Moussa added.
Moussa said that strikes, raids, and the practices of the Israeli troops could not be compared with the acts of individuals or groups.
Moussa who would come at the helm of the Arab League in May, said that Egypt's condemnation doubles ten folds when acts of violence against civilians were part of a state policy rather that individual acts of violence.
