Karma who intends to finish his tour by March 2002 told MAP correspondent in the Iranian capital he was warmly welcomed by the Moroccan diplomatic representations, Moroccan communities and Olympic committees in the countries he visited. He added this gave him a stimulus to carry out this initiative which, besides its sporting aspect, seeks to promote international awareness on the values of peace and cooperation.

The globe-trotter, born in 1958 in Casablanca, has crossed Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq. After Teheran, he will be heading to Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Russia on his way to Scandinavian countries.

This is his third initiative of the kind, after one that led him to Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and Kuwait and another trip to seven Arab countries.
