A Syrian diplomatic source in Madrid said on Thursday said that President Bashar al-Assad will head for Madrid on May 2nd and that he will inaugurate together with the Spanish King an exhibition about the Umayyads under the title " from Damascus to Cordoba," which will be held in the Spanish city of Cordoba. This is however, the first visit for President Bashar al-Assad to Spain since he assumed presidency in Syria in July 2000.
