Gas cooperation between Algeria, Turkey

The Algerian national company for fuels ( Sonatrak) on Sunday in Algiers signed with the Turkish " Butas" a supplement for the special contract relating to selling and buying natural gas signed between the two sides in 1988.

In a statement to the press following the signing of the contract, a spokesman for Sontrak said that the contract states the company to sell some 4 million cubic meters of gas annually to Turkey for a period of 25 years and that the first deliveries were handed in August 1994.

The spokesman, on the other hand, noted that the Algerian and the Turkish companies are currently studying the question of Sonatrak participation in energy projects implementation in Turkey in the framework of bilateral partnership.
