Algerian measures against Foot-and-mouth disease

As from March 26, ( Monday) the Algerian government has decided to prevent the entry or import any livestock production ( fresh or canned meat) and milk bi- products from Europe ( France, Britain, Holland as well as Argentine."

The director of veterinary department at the Algerian peasantry ministry said in a statement broadcast in Algiers on Sunday that this banning falls in the course of preventive measures taken recently by the ministry to avoid the entry of the "Foot-and-mouth disease to Algeria after its spread in the aforesaid countries."
