On costs of the Arab summit

Originally published

The London- based al-Quds al-Arabi daily said in its Friday's issue that Jordan has dedicated some 10,000 soldiers to guard Arab leaders during the Arab summit conference which Amman hosts on March 27.

The paper added that the Jordanian government and its security forces intensified its security measures through a plan including closing off the area where the summit conference is being held and several main streets surrounding the hotel where the meetings will be held besides the hotels where the Arab leaders will stay.

The paper quoted Jordanian sources as saying that the Libyan President Muammar al-Qaddafi presented the Jordanian government with huge number of luxury cars for protocol and transportation of the conference's guests.
