Egypt to export gas to Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey
"An agreement was reached Wednesday on the exportation of Egyptian natural gas to Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Turkey," Egyptian Petroleum Minister Sameh Fahmy said in statements prior to his departure Damascus.
"A natural-gas pipeline will be first extended from Egypt's A1 Arish to Jordan's Aqaba, then will run through Syria, Lebanon and Turkey," Fahmy added.
"Oil-and-mineral-resources-concerned Ministers in Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Turkey will discuss all the remaining executive-related issues before forwarding a report to their Heads of Governmental soon as possible," Fahmy said.
Fahmi has met yesterday in Damascus with his Jordanian, Syrian and Lebanese opposite numbers on the fringe of the threeway Summit held between President Hosni Mubarak, Syrian President Bashar Assad and Jordanian King Abdullah II.
